"I seem to be doing everything right, but my skin still doesn't look good," is something we often hear from people. And then it turns out that people with oily skin don't use a moisturiser, skip the skin toning step, or bask in the sun at the beach in summer without wearing sunscreen... Here are the skincare steps that will help you achieve better results and enjoy beautiful skin!
Morning routine:
Step 1: Cleansing the skin
Many people think that they don't need to wash their face with a face wash in the morning because they did it at night. The truth is that when you sleep, your skin comes into contact with your pillowcase, which is where bacteria, dust and other dirt accumulate, so it's a good idea to wash off the dirt that has accumulated overnight with a cleanser in the morning. Exceptions can sometimes be made. If your skin is dry and when you get up you think that just washing with water would be enough, then do so. Leave the cleansing with a cleanser for the evening!
Step 2: Toning your skin
For some time toners have been viewed with scepticism, and with good reason. Many toners are full of alcohol, which is very drying and irritating to the skin. Now that there is a wide range of great facial toners to choose from, they are once again finding a place in many people's skincare routines. Indeed, toning the skin is very important, and toners help to restore the skin's pH to the right level, so that the skin can better absorb the active ingredients in the products it uses later.
Step 3: Nurturing the skin
For this step, it is possible to choose products according to the needs of your skin. This can include a variety of serums or essences. Remember that the products are applied from the most liquid to the most viscous. Moisturising serums or essences are perfect for your morning routine. We also recommend using products that contain antioxidants such as vitamin C, niacinamide, green tea extract.
Step 4: Eye cream
Sometimes you can use the same cream on your eyebrows as on your face. This depends on your needs and the cream you use for your face. It is very important that it does not contain any eye irritants. Eye creams are specially formulated and adapted to the extreme sensitivity of the eyelids, so they are safer to use than a normal face cream.
Step 5: Face cream
Moisturising the face is essential to maintain healthy skin and helps to fight the first signs of ageing. Often, creams for problematic skin help to regulate the skin's oil and moisture balance and soothe inflamed areas. Facial creams also 'lock in moisture' and form a protective skin barrier, so don't miss out on this skincare step!
Step 6: Sun protection
Sunscreen is essential all year round, even in winter or on cloudy days. It protects your skin from harmful UV rays that can damage cells and cause accelerated skin ageing and pigmentation. SPF is also very important to prevent skin cancer. Apply sunscreen 15-30 minutes before going outdoors and reapply every 2 hours thereafter.
Evening routine:
Step 1: Removing make-up and SPF
This step should not be skipped, otherwise you may experience a variety of unpleasant problems, such as clogged pores, blackheads and other rashes. Make-up and SPF residues can be removed quickly and easily with a hydrophilic oil or a cleansing balm. Apply these products to dry skin and gently massage the skin, then rinse with water.
Step 2: Cleansing the skin
Since an oil cleanser does not leave your skin completely clean, for the second step of cleansing your skin, choose a cleanser that you normally use.
Step 3: Skin toning
Don't forget to use a facial toner not only in the morning but also at night!
Step 4: Nurturing your skin
As mentioned above, for this step, choose products according to your skin's needs. For your evening routine, products with acids and retinol are perfect. Remember that moisturising serums can be used twice a day.
Step 5: Eye cream
Step 6: Face cream
In the evening, you can opt for heavier, different nourishing creams.
